Case Study
Metal Processors Ltd
This Company has been a client of ours since we started. It is the leading producer and distributor of lead sheet to the construction sector in Ireland. First started in 1953 in Clondalkin it is still there today.
After its amalgamation with The Mining Company of Ireland in 1988, it can claim to be one of the oldest surviving companies in Ireland stretching back to the mid 19th century. It is a division of the multi-national Calder Group.
From an energy usage point of view, it is unusually complex having three natural gas supplies and one electricity supply on the same site. It is a large consumer of gas requiring careful handling in terms of contract placement, “tariff” type and the price fixing or otherwise of monthly consumptions in order to protect unnecessary expenditure. Recent work involved renegotiating internal aspects of complex tariff elements leading to monthly savings. Its electricity supply is also somewhat unusual.
